Decade1990s
DescriptionFormed in New York City in 1973, KISS rose to prominence in the mid-1970s for their face paint, stage outfits, and shock rock-style live performances. The group took on the personas of comic book-style characters: The Starchild (Paul Stanley), the Demon (Gene Simmons), the Spaceman (Ace Frehley), and the Catman (Peter Criss).

In 1992, bassist and co-lead singer Gene Simmons designed the Cort GS Punisher Bass which became one of his signature instruments during concerts and promotional events. The bass was manufactured by Cort, a South Korean guitar manufacturing company that specializes in electric, acoustic and classical guitars, basses, and ukuleles.

This custom bass with black finish, white binding and rosewood fingerboard was constructed and signed by Simmons.
