DescriptionRice Miller, a.k.a. “Sonny Boy Williamson II”, was one of the most influential electric bluesmen of the ’50s and ’60s. In the early days of the English blues-rock explosion, Williamson was worshiped by the likes of Clapton, Page, Richards, and Jagger. He was that good. When Led Zeppelin recorded “Bring It On Home”, they ripped off Sonny Boy's original version verbatim for the intro section. Go find a copy of the original. It's the most chilled-out and groovin’ record you'll ever hear. In this 1964 handwritten letter to photographer Chris Barber, Williamson is requesting six photos for promotional purposes. Handwritten stuff from the old bluesmen are rare treasures, and this is a truly great piece.
