DescriptionHere’s a great example of a Beatles working song draft – “Don’t Let Me Down”. A desperate plea from Lennon to his new love, Yoko Ono, “Don’t Let Me Down” is one of the more gut-wrenching Beatle tracks and foreshadowed Lennon’s direction as a solo artist. This one is probably in road manager and all-around enabler Mal Evans’ hand. Mal was an absolutely indispensible part of the Beatles organization from the very beginning. He did everything from driving the equipment to performing on the albums. Tragically, Mal Evans was shot and killed by Los Angeles police in 1976.
