DescriptionParamore founding member and frontwoman Hayley Williams has become known for her dynamic vocals and unique songwriting style. In 2013, Paramore released the music video for the hit song “Now,” in which the band is involved in a battle with both sides throwing colored smoke instead of bombs. Speaking to Billboard at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, Williams revealed that a particular piece by the artist Banksy titled “Flower Thrower” was the main inspiration for the video. “There’s this Banksy image of a man throwing a bouquet instead of a Molotov, and we were just like, ‘That totally fits the song so much.’ The song feels like it has a bit of violence to it, but it’s not about that at all; it’s about embracing something different and looking forward to something you can’t see yet. When people watch the video, I think it comes across clearly that love always wins in the end and that it’s always better to stop the cycle of bitterness and anger and try something different.”
This distressed, post-apocalyptic outfit was worn by Hayley Williams during the 2013 music video “Now.”
