DescriptionRising to prominence in the 1970s by performing at the Continental Baths, Bette Midler has maintained a six-decade long career as an actress, comedian, singer and author. Throughout her career, she’s won numerous awards – four Golden Globes, three Grammy Awards, two Tony Awards, and a Kennedy Center Honor.

While working at the Continental Baths, Midler formed her first trio of backup singers, The Harlettes, due to her evolving stage show. Originally, they were called The Red Light District, M.G.M. before settling on the name The Harlettes.

These “Kiss My Brass” mermaid costumes were worn by The Harlettes during Bette Midler’s 2003-2005 “Kiss My Brass” concert tour.
