Artist (American, born 1956)
Decade
  • 1980s
DescriptionIn an age of new horizons, forever-cool Californian crooner Chris Isaak became an unlikely success in the early 1990s as an icon of throwback American glamor with his immaculately classic style. Purchased by Chris in the mid-1980s, he used this guitar on recordings for his second LP, tours and at home. Chris always wanted John Lennon's guitar from 'A Hard Days Night' and stated this was as close as he got. In silver on the body are drawings in Chris’ own hand of an amp, maracas and a singer holding a mic stand. The J-160E is one of the first acoustic-electric guitars produced by the Gibson Guitar Coorporation. This particular guitar was made in 1968 at the Gibson Guitar Factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
