DescriptionEveryone knows that Hendrix is the undisputed master of the Stratocaster, but he owned quite a few Gibsons, too. This gorgeous '56 Les Paul Custom is one of the best. It's unusual that Jimi would use a single-cutaway guitar. When he flipped it over for left-handed playing, access to the upper frets would be seriously hampered. These old Pauls sound so damn good, though, that Jimi just dealt with it. He played this great vintage axe during his May 10th show at the Fillmore in 1968.
