DescriptionThese San Francisco Bay Area rockers brought punk music to the mainstream by releasing a string of hit records culminating in their 2015 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This Fender Precision bass was smashed by Mike Dirnt during a 2003 Green Day performance in Barcelona, Spain. At the end of the song "When I Come Around," Dirnt joins in with drummer Tre Cool's destruction of onstage gear and equipment and smashes the guitar against speakers, the floor and, ultimately, one of Tre's drums, ultimately embedding it into the side of the drum and leaving it on stage as set decoration for lead singer/guitarist Billie Joe's final encore, "Good Riddance."About the Artist
