DescriptionFormed in Roosevelt, New York, in 1985 Public Enemy rose to prominence for their songs that tackle subjects such as American racism and the American media. Alongside co-founder, Flavor Flav, Chuck D has proven that he is one of the best hip-hop lyricists of all time. The group has been nominated for six Grammy Award nominations and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Outside of Public Enemy, Chuck D was a member of the rap rock supergroup, Prophets of Rage that consisted of three members of Rage the Machine and Audioslave, and rapper B-Real of Cypress Hill.
