Description1988’s Down in the Groove is almost certainly the most difficult of Dylan’s albums for hard-core fans to accept. A meandering, collaborative work, the album features no less than 35 supporting musicians and was recorded over a five year period. The result is mostly just confusing. Some rock pundits have gone as far as to label Down in the Groove Dylan’s worst record ever. If that’s an overstatement, it’s not too far off the mark. Bob used this Gibson J-180 on some of the tracks. Strangely, Kip Winger of hair metal chart-toppers Winger played some bass on the album. Dylan and Winger – together at last!About the Artist
