DescriptionOne of the most influential singer-songwriters in country music history, Merle Haggard was also one of the genre's most versatile, blending blues, jazz, and pop into his songs. In 1961, Merle Haggard was watching his friend Roy Nichols' band perform in Las Vegas. After the show, Nichols walked off stage and gave his Telecaster to Haggard. Ever since then, Merle Haggard played a Fender Telecaster guitar.

This 1977 Fender Telecaster was one of Merle Haggard's main guitars used for live performances and recording sessions.
